Learn/Learning & practice
Practice a real conversation in another language
Role-play a specific situation, then explain a few high-value corrections.
Here’s what it could look like.
An illustrative example to show the direction. Your details will make it different.
Beginner French. Ordering two croissants at a bakery and taking them away. Correct after the exchange rather than after every phrase.
BAKER: Bonjour ! Vous désirez ? LEARNER: Bonjour. Je voudrais deux croissants, s'il vous plaît. BAKER: Sur place ou à emporter ? LEARNER: À emporter, s'il vous plaît. BAKER: Très bien. Autre chose ? LEARNER: Non, merci. FEEDBACK 'Je voudrais…' is a useful polite request. 'À emporter' is the phrase for takeaway in this exchange. The dialogue is intentionally short so you can practice it smoothly. NEXT ROUND The bakery has only one croissant left. Ask for one croissant and one other item; the tutor should wait for your answer.
A good way to get there.
- 01
Pick one realistic situation and a small vocabulary goal.
- 02
Ask the tool to play the other person and wait for each reply.
- 03
Complete one short round without constant interruption.
- 04
Review a few useful corrections and replay the same situation with one new complication.
The prompt behind this idea
Replace the bracketed details or make it yours using the form.
Practice [Add language] with me at [Add level] level. Situation: [Add situation]. Correction preference: [Add feedback]. Play one role and wait for my response each turn. Keep vocabulary appropriate for my level. After a short exchange, explain at most three useful improvements, distinguishing understandable wording from errors. Then replay with one small variation. Use text unless we deliberately choose a supported voice mode; do not claim to assess pronunciation from typed text.
Give it a second look.
- The tool pauses for the learner rather than writing both roles during actual practice.
- Corrections are limited and appropriate to the level.
- Pronunciation is not judged from typed text.
“Slow down the vocabulary. Keep the situation realistic, but introduce only one unfamiliar phrase in the next round.”
The sample shows a completed exchange; live practice should be turn-by-turn.
